Jul. 4th, 2008 10:37 amI am such an addict.
I kind of figured I'd spend a bit getting my back in shape after the crutches. And I didn't sleep that well the night before last. But I slept okay, and did stretching and math and sparring and training... not even really enough training since I ran out of time (but then 35 solid minutes of forms didn't seem to so little to throw at the ankle).
And everything was fine. I mean, yeah, ankle still swells up if I spend too much time on it, and I have to build up the stability again, and need to be really careful about certain moves. But... life was good again. I got to work a lot on biomechanical modeling. (And talk
harleybitch's ear off - sorry about that, I think I haven't been getting out enough recently...) And then I hit the co-op and got some studying in and... it was all pretty good.
Today I was very carefully doing pivots on that foot, and landing from jumps there too. I'm still training with the brace - at least outside, I'm probably going to do some of the slower forms barefoot inside this afternoon - but the stabilizers I was so worried about are responding, if sluggishly. Much more to the point, my upper back has settled down much quicker than expected, and I can think and do things.
