Jun. 21st, 2009 05:18 pmI decided to take a break from the apartment (which is smelling a little like being in the rainforest back home at the moment, and the amount of dust in the air is a bit hard to take for extended periods of time) and went to the bagel place for a bagel and coding, and then the bookstore. (Where of course I bought books. Though I was mostly there to make sure she'd gotten my emailed book order. It's nice to know I confused the retired professor bookstore owner. Why yes, two academic texts, one collection of highbrow poetry and some trash fiction. And none of it remotely related to my research.)
And I was stopped on the street by someone who apparently sees me practicing most mornings, and complemented on a) my martial arts and b) being dedicated enough to practice every day, even in the rain.
Um.
Okay, more math, or more coding trance?
And does anyone know what to do with an ailing pressure cooker? I think it's a safety valve, that's being overly cautious and not holding pressure. (
inaurolillium? This sounds like your sort of thing... Though I'm thinking finding the owner's manual is the first step... and I don't seem to have the hard copy...) ETA - okay, part found and ordered. Hope I can figure out how to install the sucker...
