Jul. 20th, 2010 09:44 amThis morning was a pretty standard schedule variant - K got up about the time I finished yoga, I grabbed breakfast, sat down to look at math, and it was time to spar.
And then the power went out. Well, nothing with sparring is power dependent, so we sparred anyway (after we confirmed that it was power being generally out and not a blown fuse - though it didn't act like a blown fuse, and well, we know blown fuses. And then Kendrick opened the window and put down the sheet of plywood we use for random project stuff on the floor, I grabbed my backpacking cooking kit, and put on water so he could make breakfast and we both could have tea. (And I am reminded just how much I love that cook set. Yeah, not hiking enough these days. Am bringing it to Seattle - matcha in the park for anyone who meets up with me morningish. In the squishy silcone tea bowl.)
So, breakfast, math, tea. Right near the end the power came back on, and the morning receded into being slightly less civilized. Just slightly, though.
