Oct. 24th, 2003 10:59 pmOh, that was a very good class.
Okay, there are several ways in which a class can be very good. And my favorite ones are when everything just comes together, and I know I'm just doing things right. And that's not what happened.
But it's the first double wushu class so far that I've not had to sit out large parts of. (I sat out arc back kicks, and sweeps, and one of the spinning jumps.) And it's also the first one where I do not feel broken. In fact, I don't even feel particular strained. And I did the other kind of spining slap jump kicks (and Craig assures me I didn't suck) and I did some pretty decent butterflies. And then I got tired and did some pretty lame butterflies, but hey, these things happen. (Actually, my decent ones ended with me landing in balance stance... and hopping. Balanced, but hopping. Heh.)
Oh, and the new batch of beginners are cool! Of course, they tend to be young, which helps (with one notable exception, who's in her sixties. E, you're just so cool...!) with some of the moves, but still, a really nice group. The Littlest Marine has pretty much taken over drilling them. I swear, he was born for this.
SI joint is kind of achey and cranky -- but not at all bad, really. Much better than last week, and I feel like things are working though. Toe is much better than that -- I have to poke at it a lot before it hurts. Still have trouble dropping into crouch stance on the left side, though, which is irritating, and there's this general sense of asymetry which is annoying. Oh, and the new stabilization exercises seem to be helping the upper back and neck a lot.
(And of course, the antibiotics seem to have cut in. Yay.)
