Nov. 16th, 2003 05:09 pmThere is a special kind of tired and satisfied than comes from finishing up a seminar like that. Mmmm. Yes, I'll write more about it later.
Over twenty hours in class this week. My knees of all things are a little sore (wore shoes too slippery for the floor for the first part of the seminar, so the low stances got a bit tedious.) Otherwise... I feel great. My body is begging for a day off, though. At least a day off from heavy stuff. It's also begging for stretching. (Gah! That's probably the other reason my legs are sore. We didn't do anything like enough stretching, and I cut short my morning stretches, too. Okay, taiji stretching isn't usually as hard core as wushu stretching, but this was awfully little even for taiji, and my body is used to a lot more.)
In terms of ettiquette, I'm wondering where having Master Chen Zhenlei encouraging us to teach the 18 form fits in with discussing things with Hong Shifu... I'm at least feeling a little bolder.
(That, and frankly I'd prefer to teach a Chen form. I've been studying Chen for a while, and I feel like I have a pretty decent conceptual understanding of it. Yang is something else altogether, to me, and while the simplified Yang form is accessible, and I feel like I could do a creditable job with it...)
