tylik"Pining": There is no sure fire method of accomplishing your goal (nor should there be). One cannoy make these things happen, only encourage and entice. Anything you can do to improve your transportation situation would probably be useful -- removing barriers being generally a good thing.
Past experience would suggest that there might be something to be said for further refining your cross gender identity. Creativity wrt proposed meetings could never hurt ("hey, babe, wanna go check out this crypt?") And I'm all in favor of being affectionate and enthusiastic as a way to further such ends... though in your particular case being fascinatingly neurotic and morose might be more to the point.
