Feb. 3rd, 2004 10:58 pmSo after my unhappy PT appointment last week, and several days of my back being really unstable, I had a really good appointment today. The verdict, for the moment, is that it's all the fault of my lower neck (well, and upper back). Again. Basically, all the ligaments that are supposed to be holding the neck together got badly overstretched in the car accidents, so now my neck is held together almost entirely by muscles, and if anything goes wrong with them it's fairly dire. Or something like that.
So we worked a bunch on stablity, she recommended that I take the day off wushu... and then taped up my upper back. Oh joy, oh rapture. No, really. Within a couple hours after that, I was feeling dang good, so I went to wushu anyway. (No, I'm not being stupid, but I am probably skipping wushu tomorrow, and I didn't want to miss both days. And it's fun to gossip with my sister.) Wushu was fun. Chen at Artspawn was tiny, but also fun. (A small class means getting to pick on everyone.)
God it's amazing how much not being in significant pain improves my mood.
The ligaments in my upper spine might tighten up over time. They probably will, some. Maybe not that much. Who knows? But I think if I keep improving my arsenal of ways of dealing with them, and herding them along, it can be managable.
