The Perils of Zukia

sea_gaagii or
joystormer, if you see this could you possibly send me R.'s contact info? I need to talk to someone knowledgable to try to determine if it's even worth trying to salvage this situation...)
When we last heard from Zukia the Wonder Car, she was functioning just fine, as long as I kept a careful eye on the radiator level. Not even that careful -- she seemed to need a liter of water every couple hundred miles, maybe a little more if I'd been driving her long distances.
In the last month, she's had two overheating incidents. The first one, three weeks ago, I think, seemed pretty typical -- I knew I hadn't checked the radiator well enough, but I was in a rush, and hoped she'd make it through. She didn't. I pulled over as soon as the temp headed up, though, and it wasn't a big deal.
More recently, though, she had one that was a bit more inexplicable, and left me suspicious that Something Was Amiss. However, this morning Craig could not get himself out of bed for exhibition training. And then I couldn't find the key to my car. So I threw a jug of water into the back and away we went.
Five (six?) overheating episodes later, she limped into the Park and Ride near the PCC. Where I parked her and wondered if I should call up Craig and get him to get out of bed to pick me up.
When, as if by magic, a taxi appeared. I took this as a sign (I hadn't been in a taxi for a decade, I'm pretty sure) and got a ride home.
