The demo yesterday went really well. I really love the school. But I did decide to take this morning off from Chen, and laze around and sleep in. I'm still mostly over this bug, but it's pretty clear that I'm not going to get all the way over it if I'm not getting plenty of rest. I was getting dizzy spells during the demo -- not really a big deal, while my back was messed up I got pretty used to doing forms while dizzy -- but still, probably a sign.

I do wonder if the obviously-geeks a couple rows back from the stage who stood up and saluted us when we came out at the end of the demo were people I know on LJ -- it seems almost inevitable that we have friends in common one way or another...

I'm a little frustrated about my lack of progress in wushu. The problem is that wushu is just all about physical extremes. The problem in my back really isn't that big a deal. Except in wushu, where I'm flat out barred from doing a number of things, and feel like I'm losing ground almost everywhere else. (For instance, I'm barred from doing any of the plyometric leg lifts or sit ups, because they irritate my back. Therefore, not only am I losing strength in my abs overall -- and abs are really central to kicks and jumps -- but I'm even more noticably losing speed. Sit ups just don't do it.)
