[livejournal.com profile] craigp and I met up this evening and headed down to Nikolino's in Issaquah. (One of the two best Tiramisu's in the Greater Seattle area, by Craig's current reckoning, I believe.) A place I'm very fond of, even if they haven't really figured out the serving dinner in courses bit. (I mean, they did it, but it was a little awkward. Now tell me, why arrange your menu that way if you aren't really set up for serving in courses.) Heh. I could also be a little dubious about recommending a Montepulciano to go with both salmon and calamari... but you can't really go that wrong recommending a Montepulciano to me, and it was a very nice one. Okay, you can go wrong by recommending a wimpy spineless Montepulciano.

For a special, they had strawberries in cream with a little marsala. Which just sounded wonderful, but I usually don't eat strawberries in February. (Because they usually suck.) But I was reassured that they were very good... and they were. Okay, the treatment made the dish, but the strawberries were quite fine. Now that's a dessert. Mmm.

Craig and I have been almost living in separate time zones recently. He usually makes it home before I go to bed. Sometimes we actually exchange a few words. Then in the wee hours of the morning he comes into bed, all cold because the heat turned off hours ago, and I curl up around him (I'm usually pleasantly overwarm by then, having put on more covers when I went to bed than I really need.) And in the morning after I've bathed and dressed he's tangled up in the covers by himself, and I give him a kiss before I go.

(The latter bit is exactly how things *ought* to be, since Craig generally needs more sleep than I do, and he's awfully cute curled up and sleep with his hair all everywhere.)
