Sep. 2nd, 2005 09:39 amOn the one hand, score one for me. Woke up this morning and my neck/shoulder was okay, but not great, so I went and lifted weights for a while, remembering that helped a lot last time. (Which was about a year ago.) And it helped again. Still problematic, but if I'm careful about posture, and not carrying things across my shoulders (especially unevenly across my shoulders, a backpack probably isn't so much of a problem) I think I'll do alright. Wrestling with my new memory foam mattress apparently did not do me great or lasting harm. And it cheered me up, so generally a net win.
I'm thinking another aspect of that weird wandering-around-without-a-shirt dream last night is just that my breasts are really tender. I was apparently stressed out enough during my last menstrual cycle to throw off the timing, which leaves me a little confused about where I am now. (I'm usually clockwork woman, and can actually talk about being twelve hours late, so this is novel, though not particularly worrisome). I would have thought more mid cycle than late, but it might also be that there are other hormone fluctuations in play, though I wouldn't have thought I was being active enough for the increased activity level thing to kick in. It would be so cool if I could test hormone levels every day or so for a couple of weeks. I did just enough of that with my (former) doctor to show that there is something a bit anomolous going on, though the level aren't dangerous, and nothing else seems wrong with me. Working hypothesis is that is has something to do with estrogen that gets stored in fat and released when I up my activity level, but then this effect was supposed to taper off, and while I'm becoming more active compared to earlier this summer, I'm not even really up to my normal level yet.
And the joints of my hands are swollen and sore. Which is sometimes an allergic reaction thing, and sometimes a hormonal thing, so probably the latter... It's not a big deal, just annoying. If it *is* an allergic reaction, I'd love to know what triggered it, though.
