Apr. 4th, 2006 08:25 pmSo I stayed home sick today. Tuesday I don't have any classes, so this mostly meant I wasn't in the lab. I also didn't get anything done. I do realize that the point of staying home sick isn't really to get things done, but it was still a little disturbing. I did manage some biochem readings (either I have a bad attitude, or the current set of readings is really boring, and the material is better covered in lecture), and to review the quiz problems. Some of those are actually kind of cool. But mostly I've had no energy and the attention span of a gnat. I get a sore throat, and then I sleep, and it goes away. I read that some local high schools are having over 10% absenteeism due to some late season flue outbreak.
I'm still hoping to duck out of getting really sick. I felt worse two weeks ago, but then two weeks ago I had to go into the lab to infect the project collaborator from Microsoft. And I got better then, with enough sleep. I don't know if staying home is really working, though -- even though I'm too tired to do anything, I feel restless. I'm thinking now that I should have gone for a walk this afternoon. Probably half a mile or so would have been enough to get me ready to nap...
Darn it, I need escapist fiction. Maybe a little light calculus? Days like this I really miss the poli-econ classes -- the readings were so entertaining.
