Jul. 27th, 2006 11:37 pmI am rather behind on entries, meaning that I've thought of a number of things I want to write about but haven't. And I'm behind on email.
OTOH, today was actually a productive day. Met with our MS collaborators in the morning, worked in the yeast lab until evening... and left with only a mild headache. Felt like I could have gotten writing done tonight, but between errands and cleaning I ran out of time. Still, I think I'm doing better.
The first tomato of the year is, if not quite ripe, at least a nice terra cotta color. Likely it will be ripe tomorrow. The hungarian wax peppers are being amazingly productive. The lower principe borghese tomatoes are hanging in glossy bunches, not much behind the cherries. And I put up a bunch of fresh basil in oil because it was getting ahead of me.
I've gone off of dairy (as opposed to just being mostly off of dairy) for a bit. I am a bit grumpy about how this turns me from a mellow laid back vegetarian to a picky troublesome vegetarian. But I'm a bit allergic to milk, and my asthma is getting worse, so it seemed like a time to read the handwriting on the wall. I am still eating eggs, though mostly only duck eggs, and not often. OTOH, Costco has started carrying organic tomatoes. Tomatoes are one of the few canned products I use regularly, so this makes me happy.
I am not sure if I'm getting more used to my contacts, but I am wearing them more often. I think the eyestrain aspect is getting better. My eyes itched tonight. The swimming is great, of course, though the lake is feeling warmer than I like for serious swimming.
Tired. Must make bread.
