Wednesday I got home feeling utterly dead. I didn't even go to class.

Thursday I woke up, and still felt dead*. I got ready to head in to work... and eventually it dawned on me that there was nothing that absolutely needed to be done that day, and that there was no way I was surviving the bike ride in. (It's a short friendly bike ride.) So I stayed home, and slept most of the day.

Today I woke up feeling much better, and with a meeting scheduled for this morning. So I got ready, and hopped on my bike. By the time I got to HS, I was dizzy and bleary. But I had the meeting, talked a little more with Andrew about the MS talk... and then went up to the yeast lab. Did my last bit of selection plating, and then set up another six PCR runs.

And then Kenneth wanted to talk about an interesting little pattern recognition problem dealing with gene expression data. As I lost my voice...

Anyhow, now I am back in the comp lab, and writing a whiny LJ post while I try to get ready to face the bike ride home. Once I get on my bike, I suspect that the image in my head of my bed will keep me going ;-)

* This is my typical sort of getting sick. I'm pretty sure this is some kind of respiratory bug, but mostly I just feel like I need to crawl into bed right now. I don't usually get other symptoms unless I push it. Which is probably why I've lost much of my voice.
