I think I tripped over a couple of semantic bits taking this one -- a lot of the "Do you feel sympathy for..." questions I wasn't sure how to answer. Do I feel bad for these people? Yeah. But sympathy seems to imply a kind of understanding that it often seems presumptuous to think I have.
