Dec. 25th, 2006 04:43 pmT1 connection set up. Go T1!! Suddenly, there is blazing speed.
Survived much being filial. Mom seems to like her painting. (A picture of which is here.) Sam had not read either "Fun Home" or "Tales of the City", and was pleased with both. Lauren... well, Lauren's present was the Masters Chen seminar, so that was easy. Tracey has a gift card to UBS, with the instructions that this is to be spent on chapter books, not Manga. (Nothing against Manga, he just has an awful lot, and also like chapter books.) I was given a cool CD and a set of wrought stainless steel tableware (this is a perfect gift -- it's just silly enough that I wouldn't have bought it for myself, but I like it a lot) and the promise that Lauren will knit me a hat. (With kitty ears. And earflaps for my ears.)
Came home, messed with the network connection, which still didn't connect, and couldn't even find the gateway. Double checked everything. Rebooted everything. Checked again; no luck. Took a nap. And then everything worked. I should get all the computer stuff neatly arranged, and then clean the fridge... and then wander over to something social. Hm.
