What are you doing for your birthday?
Um. Oh, yeah. I have a birthday. Huh. I hadn't thought about it much.
I guess people could come over to the barge on the 9th. Would that work? Heck, does anyone else have ideas?
How do we make the cats stop tipping over the trash bins and scattering their contents?
Are you more interested in behavior alteration, or stopping the tipping?
If the former, I refer you to the God Bottle. Practically, keep it close at hand when you are around the cats. As the tipping starts, turn them into wet kitties. Judicious use of booby traps might have similar effect.
If the latter, I would recommend either putting the trash cans into less tipable positions and/or providing them with balast (for instance, a ten pond weight in the bottom, underneath the liner.)
Kitty bowling, while not my personally recommendation, also has a lot of history going for it.
How did my sourdough starter get a mold infestation?!
That I cannot say, other than to note the prevalence of mold spores in the region as a whole. However, starters can be rescued -- take a small amount from a non-moldy area, put it in a fresh mixture of flour and water, and leave at room temp. As soon as it begins to rise, put a small amount from the new sponge into a fresh mixture of flour and water.
Usually, if the starter is sour enough the acids will discourage mold.
