Sometimes it really hurts me how many important avenues of research are neglected because of parochial attitudes in the scientific community.
For instance, considering all the problems we have with cholesterol in standard humans, it's absolutely criminal that no one is studying cholesterol metabolism in zombie populations. Brains have extremely high concentrations of cholesterol, and they are the favored, by anecdotal evidence even the mainstay and necessary, foodstuff for these groups. And there are no cases recorded in the literature of zombies suffering from atherosclerosis -- not one. A thorough understanding of zombie metabolism could be incredibly useful in addressing the arterial health issues of the standard human population.
