I've done a fair bit of training in the rain recently. Even training in the hard rain. Training in the really hard kind of cold rain was a little bit different. Actually kind of fun, though the extent to which I was still dripping by the time I made it back to the apartment was a little silly. It's all about having the right gear. (In this case layered wicking fabrics.) And it's laundry day for me anyway. Though this whole bit with all of my clothing becoming looser... I'm fine with it mostly, but it's kind of a pain when it's loose wet fabric flapping everywhere.
So then I took a hot shower before stretching, and did some nice stretches. Seemed like a good day for splits. Settled down further into my left front split, and then suddenly *CRICK* came out from somewhere near the origin of the mid hamstring. I got out very quickly... and felt mostly fine. So I worked a little more on that side (gently!) and then worked the other. I'm now feeling a kind of deep ache along various portions of that leg (shinsplints! even) but it's not bad, it's not really from where I felt this, and doesn't seem to be stopping me at this point. So maybe it's just aching as things settle into new alignment.
Always fun when something like this happens and I'm left thinking "huh, well, maybe this is good, and maybe I won't be able to walk tomorrow." It's from an area I've had a lot of pain since the 2003 accident... so it perhaps it was scar tissue breaking loose, this could be a good sign. I should probably take an epsom salt bath before bed tonight.
