I am such an addict

Yesterday my back seized up. I'd spent a bunch of time sitting in a twisted position during orientation talks (this is dumb) and then capped it off by working on a poorly configured computer. It wasn't a sudden event, mostly I just noticed that I was brain dead, and spent the evening alternating being trying to be productive, and trying to get the alignment better. This morning I woke up and I just hurt. Muscular pain, mostly, with some alignment issues (this is where the joint laxity combines with the injuries in an unfavorable way). But I managed to knock everything into place, and go train.

And now I feel really good. Oh, okay, maybe I pushed the left hamstring a bit doing splits afterwards. (Drat! And it had been doing so well, too.) But my muscles stopped whining and worked, and I feel alert and good. Honestly, I sometimes wonder how people who don't spend a good chunk of time training every morning get through the day.

I even like the heat and humidity. Especially when I'm sore -- everything has to get warmed up and be relaxed. No choice. (One of my neighbors told me "it's too hot!" when she walked by where I was practicing. I replied "It will be hotter later!") There's a certain kind of focus -- I mean yes, you have be rehydate, and yes you end up soaking wet a lot sooner, but in some ways you can push yourself a lot harder, too.
