tylikOh, and why did I only find out recently that Japanese knotweed shoots are not only edible, but darned tasty, too?
It's a horrible invasive weed. You should go out and cut the shoot before they have a chance to get big. (They'll make more shoots, but you know what to do.) Cook them like asparagus. Excellent.
Worse, I see clumps ever day on my way in to campus... but, uh, not anywhere I'd want to collect from. (I'm not sure there's much of anywhere in the city I'd want to collect from... but certainly not down by the train tracks.)
