Dances with snowplows

tylikBy this evening we're supposed to have 8-12" of new snow. We already had snow - it was something like 14" before we had one warm day, which made everything more compact and icy. (Kendrick finally abandoned the goat trail. I didn't, but I had the right gear.) My morning amusement has been watching the two snow plow equipped pick-up trucks for our apartment building try and keep up with the falling snow. Bigger and bigger piles of snow, but no real end in site. Meanwhile, the snow falls (mostly horizontally) past the window, while I am warm inside our cheerful apartment, with a beeswax candle burning, my favorite snuggly sweater and a warm laptop on my lap.
Hmm? Um, yeah, I'd normally be in the lab now. But, well... I got everything done that I was trying to yesterday, and stayed late doing some programming stuff and apparently this didn't really combine well with being horribly sick the day before. I'm pretty sure the antibiotics are working just fine, especially if I can stop being a dumb ass. (I woke up still tired and with all of my joints aching, which I interpreted as my immune system saying "You are a dumb ass". And I was going to be working from home this morning anyway...) I did get in 45 minutes of (gentle) yoga, and 30 minutes of sparring... very light sparring, by my request, and I still mostly made it through the last two minutes because I knew they were the last two minutes. We seem to be doing a lot of close in work with knees. Still locking range, mostly, though - K doesn't seem to want to let me close all the way for grappling :-( It's fun stuff - kind of like some of the arm work, but different because you mostly have to be standing on at least one leg. (It's not like we aren't doing other stuff, but this is the new toy of the moment.)
I'll be doing forms, ah, real soon now. Maybe after a bath. ...and a nap.
