stolen_tea, K and I all saw Watchmen. I had read mixed reviews, so I went in with low expectations. And it was much better than what I expected.

Though OMG, the soundtrack. I go back and forth between "Brilliant!" and "Aaauuggh!" If it was anything but a super hero movie it would have been awful.

I did think the opening scene done to the Dylan song was brilliant.

The Comedian was excellent.

They did manage to outgore the graphic novel, which took some doing.

Really, most of my quibbles are with Moore. They didn't tone down any of the icky gender dynamics. And oh, for once, could we have the hyper rational detached from humanity character be female? I mean really, how much have we internalized the idea that having a uterus means that you just can't be that cerebral?
