So both Tuesday and Wednesday nights I really put a lot of effort into getting plenty of sleep. And then Thursday morning I got up at my preferred time (I've been getting up later just because I've been feeling pretty dead) did yoga, did math, did forms with my neighbor, and headed in for the conditioning class.

The class was pretty awesome. I'm realizing that part of the reason I've been wanting to structure it less as a class I teach and more as a group of folks who work out together is that I've been missing the dynamic you get when you have a bunch of fairly serious, usually somewhat advanced students working together. And our new members are totally taking the "look, I have a bunch of material, and I'm happy to show you how to do this all, but bring your own stuff in" bit seriously. So now we're getting climbing exercises and capoeira exercises (which *rock* OMG, so cool, and I so suck at them! must work on them and then bring them back to Seattle) in addition to the plyos and the kick drills and all the other standards.

However, the afternoon and evening was all very crashy. Body says that that was just too much. I spent most of the afternoon going "Why am I so tired? I'm caught up on sleep. I shouldn't be so tired." And then the sore throat and unhappy sinuses kicked in, and I'm all "Oh..." I made myself a particularly good dinner, and crashed early. (This morning K told me about how he was undisciplined and stayed up late doing math. I snorted and replied that the only disciplined thing about me getting to bed early was that I managed to feed myself and do my dishes before I fell on my face. It was pretty touch and go with the dishes, too.) More sleep, copious quantities of matcha (ah!) and rather gentler training this morning and it's clear that no, I'm not really particularly sick, I just need to be sensible or something.

Stupid cold. Stupid me for not knowing how to manage having a cold. I am feeling rather like the dragon (well, former dragon) in Twisting the Rope.
