I've been wanting to get back into doing cartwheels. Well, working on the more acrobatic sides of things more generally - I've been working more on drilling the flying kick series again, my sweeps are being... well, kind of entertaining, really -- and one of the guys who I'm teaching Chen to has a background in capoeira and he's been giving me pointers. So today I decided to try a couple back behind the end of one of the wings - I figured it would likely be a long process. I remember how weird and scary it was to learn them in wushu. (I'd never really been able to do them before that.) But if you don't start... so I did. And turned a nice, relaxed, lazy cartwheel. So I did another. And then I figured maybe this was my good side, so I did one on my other side. And then I just stood back there and laughed.

Everywhere I go is a homecoming.
And each time I am surprised.
