Chop veggies, grade papers
Sep. 19th, 2009 04:20 pmOMG, roasted cauliflower is so good. Why don't I make this more often? Why did I think one cauliflower was enough?
I had an early autumn fit at the farmer's market, and was barely able to stagger home under everything I bought. Which, admittedly, included at least a week's supply of broccoli for Kendrick... perhaps as much as a third of the total by volume. Maybe a quarter.
So now I am making roast vegetable salad. Which is to say that I am roasting cauliflower, eggplant, zucchini, onions, garlic, peppers, tomatoes and oyster mushrooms (all with a bit of olive oil). Eventually it will all be mixed together, tossed with lemon juice, fresh basil, and perhaps a bit of salt.
But darned, the cauliflower is amazing. (The rest is pretty good too. But the cauliflower... I have got to stop eating it every time I walk by the bowl, or it will be all gone before the salad is a salad.)
I'm about a third of the way through grading yesterday's exam. I suspect it is going to be curved, though that wasn't the plan. (Well, the plan was that if the scores were too low, we'd curve it.) Pretty strongly bimodal distribution, though.
Wielding the red pen of doom is entertaining, except really, I'm rooting for them all. (Well, mostly. I am occasionally moved to exasperation.)
I also picked up a pretty green hemp dress shirt, and a bunch of alpaca to spin.
And now I shall grade some more.
