Not dead yet. Still not King, either.

Actually, life has been pretty great, if busy. (Well, and my spine has had a few wobbles, but they're pretty minor wobbles, really.) I've been trying to get my application together for a fellowship I'd like to get (because, y'know, outside funding is good - and it might come with an excuse to spend a bit more time in Seattle, too). And then work more on my lecture on spinal anatomy for Wednesday.

So I was really pleased to have gotten through the sticky part of the proposal for the application, and headed over to check my email...

...to find out that the professor for the anatomy class woke up on Saturday morning with appendicitis, was in surgery last night, won't be home until tomorrow, and is supposed to take a week off. He offered several options for how to deal with things, but what it sounds like is I'll be taking both tomorrow and Wednesday's lectures, and the other TA will be taking Friday's with me as theoretical backup (which is entirely a confidence thing - she'll do great, and the backup will almost certainly be entirely theoretical).

So... yeah. Exciting, that.

OTOH, there is material in Monday's lecture that I just am not going to cover in as much depth as the professor probably would have... and there is material that it was just killing me to leave out of Wednesday's lecture. Hack, hack. Paste, paste. Hmm. Yes, this will be entertaining.
