I should not be this tired. Or achey. I am seriously thinking about blowing off the Neurodynamics meeting... er, so I can go home and go through the class I'm teaching on Friday quietly, in my own time, and yet in time before Dr. T (and K) head off to a conference in Utah tomorrow morning. (Oh well - at least it's easier to deal with K being in a different time zone when he isn't simultaneously living in the apartment. The last few days, as he's tried to shift his schedule, have been weird.)
On the other hand, my new assistants presented at lab meeting today, and did a lovely job.

This is the place I buy most* of my matcha from. They are wonderful, and their prices are very good. (Yes, that's good. Look for anyone else's prices on matcha of similar quality.) For those of you for whom I made tea when I was out in Seattle around New Years, what I served was either the Yuuki Midori (very bright, light, slightly grassy flavor) or the Yame Matcha (very rich and smooth).
It does really make sense to order a lot at one time, as shipping cost amortize well, that way. Go in with a friend? On the other hand, the matcha will oxidize - even kept in a tightly sealed pouch or tin you should probably drink it within a month of opening it.
I've tried all of the varieties of matcha that they sell (and like them all, though I'm not exactly short on opinions) so if you happen to think that random opinions from me might be helpful, I'd be happy to provide them.

And, for something completely different... I've been looking at the area above the electonics workstation in the apartment speculatively for some time. There is unused space. Coincidentally, we have a shortage of storage, there, anyhow, meaning that our electronics stuff is distributed throughout the apartment and not necessarily on hand when we need it. I'd decided almost exactly what I wanted, but I'm kind of slow when it comes to spending money, mostly.
So, after an episode in which the dremel press I'd ordered failed to materialize, K stepped in and bought a high speed drill press for PCB work (possibly inspired in part by my musing about exactly what I wanted to do for storage, and would do next time I felt like spending money) I went looking for just the right heavy duty modular wire shelving. (I've always had a fondness for this stuff, and after finding just the right shelves to hold both printers and the house servers, and having out living room magically become much more efficient as a result...)
I might look a little more, but darn it, this might just be the tinker toy furniture I was looking for. I just knew there had to be someone selling the individual parts... and the accessories! Trays and bins and hooks and chemical resistant work surfaces! That can withstand hundreds of pounds!
me: Oh, it's just what I wanted! And I can accessorize!
K: We could outfit a whole lab...!
me: Who knew? There is shopping that I really enjoy!
* I have started drinking a lower grade matcha when I don't think I have the time or energy to give the good stuff the attention it deserves. Also, much cheaper, but not bad.
