tylikToday I got up, did yoga (though not quite as much as I'd've liked to) did zhan zhuang, and then two hours of math with breakfast and tea. And then I sparred with K, and headed out to the farmer's market.
We are having weirdly summery weather, which it wonderful for the first day of the farmer's market being outside again. Wonderful for being there, and pretty nice for the selection too - a great selection of ramps, salad greens, leeks, beets, and so on. Just the bike ride up was glorious. And then I get there, and there is sheep shearing, and a couple of guys with guitars playing wonderful if moldy early seventies folk and... gosh, it was just great. And I came home with half a bushel of apples, ramps, fresh shiitake mushrooms, beets and beet greens, salsa, flax seeds, and rolled oats.
And then I came home, grabbed a bite to eat, and went out and did forms. And then came in and did Knuth with K and B (B via Skype). And then headed into the lab to work with one of my undergrads (who did a stellar job on the surgery - I'm so happy to finally have some decent animals in, I think she was starting to get discouraged). And then I came home and sent Dr. T my files and my draft write up of the next CNS programming assignment. (Draft meaning "Here are the two extremes of how we could present them. Where in there do you think is the sweet spot in terms of it not being brain dead, but also not impossible?")
I haven't yet trimmed my hair, done laundry, or graded my portion of the last assignment, but still, a pretty good chunk of my tasks for this weekend.
