Jun. 13th, 2010 12:22 pmFoo. Unless I'm quite mistaken, I've given myself achilles tendonitis. I've been probably skirting it for the last bit, wasn't sure if I should run this morning, did anyway... felt a little stiff and sore for a bit, then pretty darned good for a while, then, somewhere around the mile mark (longer route today) it was suddenly really not good at all. So I walked back home, stretched some did forms... and then came inside to shower, gulp down some Naproxin sodium and some glucosamine (last time I had tendonitis in the wrist, the glucosamine seemed to help a lot.)
Pain is starting to recede, but it's still pretty darned unhappy. I suspect this means I should take more than one day off of running.
ETA: Anyone have any advice on how to deal with this? Most of what I've found on the web is all vague and "get yourself to a doctor"-y. (While mentioning a lot of ice and compression type stuff. But nothing useful like "do foo for at least x days, or until you notice bar, take it easy another couple of days and then you're good to go")
(Running has been progressing well - back to running without albuterol, which is nice, and my endurance is doing better, but this has been building up a bit, and now I feel really stupid. And the serious endorphine kick disappeared a while ago - no surprise that, really.)
