tylikMostly an update on tabi - Ayyawear, which makes the leather tabi I was having qualms about, will be coming out with a line of cordura tabi. And I will get some. No, I'm not scrupulously avoiding leather... and at least as much of the problem was that they were way too cool for me. OTOH, leather and the salty slush that I want heavier shoes to deal with aren't the best combination, and the cordura tabi will be actually waterproof. (They might turn out to also be too cool for me, but I'll just have to cope.)
Also? The Efferdent trick for dis-infecting and de-stinking one's VFFs works pretty well, and is entertaining chemical theatre. And the disturbing minty fresh bit disperses quickly. (Actually, I've found that throwing them into the wash every week or two is sufficient. But the Efferdent is still fun.)
