Running on the treadmill continues to be entertaining. Lots of assiduous stretching. I can apparently maintain 5.5/mph for ten minutes without my lungs particularly noticing. And if my lungs are happy the rest of my body is happy - at least until my calves tighten up later, hence aforementioned stretching. (And the SI joint is not quite in place, but I'm working from home so there is undignified rolling about on the floor in my future to fix that.)

No, that's not particularly fast... but it's not a terrible pace, either. And it makes me realize that part of the problem I've been having running outside is that I just plain run too fast for where my body is. So, the treadmill might be kind of dull, but it's easier to work on my alignment, and way easier to moderate my pace. Ten minutes is, of course, not particularly long, either, but I don't want to cut into my forms practice. As I get used to it all, I'll probably try to do one longer run on the weekend. It'd be really easy to run long and more frequently right now (it's weirdly addictive for me) but I do not want a repeat of the achilles tendonitis.

I'm doing the every other day thing for the time being. Warming up on the exercise bike on some of the off mornings - though if I train right after sparring it's kind of a non-issue. (Except that my sparring is going through a less exertive stage.)

Today it's above freezing and raining, the first for a while. It's supposed to get cold and stay cold later tonight. My wish for Cleveland is that it is warm and rainy through this afternoon, and gets rid of most of the old snow... and then dries up until after it's below freezing again, to minimize ice and freezing rain.
