tylikOne trope that shows up a lot in science fiction involves cultures with interstellar travel, high technology, good communications and a well educated populace... with fairly feudal systems of government.
Now I get that this is fun stuff for space opera. Everything a queen or prince does just seems so much more significant. The drama!
But assuming the culture requires a well educated population... do you think this is in fact a fairly likely outcome?
