Oct. 17th, 2002 11:50 pmThis has been an odd day, and part of an odder week.
But I think I've finally kicked the bug. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be this hyper otherwise.
So I missed wushu and bagua on Monday (and I had perfect attendance last quarter!). And then staggered through Chen 48 on Tuesday. Then yesterday I was feeling a little better, but before Chen 56 and Sword I met with my physical therapist, to whom I complained bitterly about the lack of flexibility in my ankles, and all the movement weirdness in my right ankle.
We spent the rest of the appointment breaking up scar tissue in my ankles. Ow! Actually, it does hurt, kind of a lot, but in a fairly good sort of way. Then we finished and she said "so stay off it tonight, okay?" and I'm like "what part of I'm going to be in class for three hours did you not understand?" "But you aren't feeling that well. Why don't you go home and ice it a lot instead?"
Instead I met Craig and we had a lovely dinner at Shanghai Garden, I begged a couple of glasses of ice from the restaurant (yes, I always keep an ice pack in my bag) and I tried to hobble my way through class. I missed about half of it... but I'm glad I went. Meanwhile, my ankle swelled up and made horrible threats. (OTOH, it was doing this after wushu anyway, so I wasn't that impressed.) But it's better today. Mostly. And the residual everything hurts more than it should aching bit from the bug has also fled.
I've spent way too much time on email the last couple of days... and y'know what? It's not a big deal. Had a bit of a headache earlier, but I am surviving. I miss my huge email binges of days past... ;-)
who_is_she and I met to practice chen in the park today, and that was lovely. This weather is incredible. I don't know how much longer it can last... gentle, bright, poofs tussles and cascades of changing color leaves...
