So, after a bit of fussing because it was a new doctor doing the procedure and my combination of not wanting to be sedated and intending to walk home afterwards was strange and disorienting (which would have gotten worked out anyway, but the nurses knew me and vouched for me being a model patient) the injections were done, they decided I was good to go, and I took myself out to lunch. Out here the weather is perfect for sitting outside and eating a vegan calzone, so that is what I did.

This is the least pain I've been in in over a month. (Well, the steroid bit... was just different. It wasn't exactly pain, I'll grant you.) Fairly non-stoned, too, for that matter. I mean, I'm sore and achy from having needles in my spine, and I'm sure I'll be really sore tomorrow. And my right arm is weak, which again, is more or less as expected (and should go away). But that's minor stuff. The last of pressure on my head and neck and that weird knotted up thing at the cervical thoracic transition is pretty incredible.

So very grateful. Even if it's just this time now.

And I'm a little more optimistic about this procedure being useful. Whenever they touched a nerve... well, it wasn't exactly pleasant, right? But it hurt in the right ways. Of course, this implies I need to read up on the current state of the art in RFA... 'cause last I read up on it I thought it would interfere with motor pathways, and I'm sorry, I'm using those muscles and they're important to me. But I need to get that figured out.

Okay. Icepack and some fiction. And maybe some forms.

Or - aha! That's the UPS truck! I think I'm going to run down stairs and see if my new computer is here.
