Having been reintroduced to a favorite pair of climbing pants, I have been reminded of one of their best features - not only is the fabric slightly stretchy (it appears to be a heavy canvas) but it has some kind of slippery coating. On the inside. This is really important - it means it doesn't stick to my knees when my knees are sweaty and I'm working in low stances or doing kicks. Which might sound picky, but this is the primary thing I don't like about most woven pants.
Does anyone know what this is called? Does anyone know of cool pants with this kind of material? Does anyone know if anyone makes somewhat dressier pants out of something like this (okay, that's probably pushing it)?
Do people still use this stuff? I looked for other pants by the same company (Kuhl) and they didn't mention the slippery coating stuff. Was this one of those passing fads? WTH?
