Nov. 10th, 2011 07:25 amWonderful thing: I've been thinking of talking with an older student about whether she wanted to work on the academic hunch she's acquired. I know a lot about working those out, but a) I can't guarantee it would work in her case b) it certainly won't work if she's convinced nothing can be done c) I really try not to be intrusive about these things. Bodies are hard, people get to choose when to work on them at their own times.
Anyhow, last night during standing meditation I was walking around offering posture corrections. I brushed the hinge point in her back and recommended she try a little more support right there... and her upper back just straightened. I'd never seen it look anything like that, and said as much. She said it previously hadn't been able to do that. Lots of work ahead, but we both know it's possible, and she's gotten a taste of how to do it.
