I wonder how we're doing on that less than one inch.

Carbide studded bike tires are the best things ever. Thank you randomdreams for pointing me towards them. (First. I think. Could possibly have been zzyzx_xyzzy...) Though it's weird when there's suddenly enough snow that you can't hear the studs any more and everything sounds very quiet. I did not ride particularly aggressively on them, as by the time the snow was really getting going I was laden from the farmer's market. This is probably also the first time I've had more people ask me about my tires than my bike. (Well, in fairness, it was more "You're still biking?!" "Carbide studded tires." "They make those?!")

Also, policy from here on out is to wear goggles even in light snow. It's not really nasty enough for the new balaclava - which will be OMG wonderful in really bad weather, but was kind of too warm when I road tested it yesterday.

Finally, my favorite tomato based pasta treatment is simply strained tomatoes, a little garlic, some sambal oolek, topped with black walnuts and capers. Gods I love that stuff. Having it over freshly made vegan white bean, spinach and mushroom ravioli doesn't hurt.

I am rather tempted not to budge from the house for the rest of the weekend. Training space? Check. Food? Check. Sufficient projects? Oh, dear gods, don't leave the house for a month.
