Oct. 30th, 2012 06:14 pmBTW, we're fine, the zendo has no power, but it has a gas stove and gas hot water (and if this lasts too long we might try to find another power source for the radiator pump) so all is well. Camping protocols more or less immediately slip into place, with few rough edges.
I got my new phone - a Galaxy Relay - yesterday, but as the stock OS won't let me tether (and is incredibly annoying) I'm still using my old one for the moment. For otherwise our house has no internets - oh noes! (I do like the hardware, as irritated as I am by the stock OS. Yeesh.)
I'm also very, very happy that I picked up a pair of the Merrell Frost Gloves, as I haven't had a good pair of warm waterproof boots for a while. And our back yard is a small lake, so I wore them to wade out to the garage to get our bikes this morning. (The garage itself is fine.) Also, ice fishing gloves are absolutely tops for biking in the rain.
Apparently our neighborhood (technically a city, but who are we fooling) has cancelled trick'er'treating until this Sunday. I'm not quite sure how that works, but we have 1,100 glow bracelets to hand out, so I hope it does work. (This is only a little bit nuts. Last year we handed out 200 in 35 minutes.)
