tylikFinally got around to installing rooting my transformer and installing cyanogenmod on it. And then, inspired in part by some of the work K was going on his phone (I guess it was mess with Android day) I installed ubuntu with a lightweight desktop as well.
Surprisingly functional! And suddenly my transformer is a coding environment as well. With X!
Waiting still to see if this hits the battery life. (If you count both batteries, I've gone through about 50% today, which is the most in an age.) Makes the whole travel thing a lot more straightforward
Alas, even though someone dropped me an untested fix, still no tether for my phone. But there's a pre-alpha CM9 for it, now. (Why won't xda dev give us a forum?)
