Apparrently borosilicate is one of the materials of choice for bongs. Who knew? (Yes, this is kind of obvious in retrospect.)

I'm trying to figure out what would be involved in doing blown glass work with boro - because I really want to be able to make tea bowls and not have them shatter if really hot water is poured into them. (Sorry about that

openbuddha. Mine wasn't nearly as nice, but it never did that...) For this sort of application, I'd rather not work from tube stock, though, of course, I can, if that's what it takes... But I want thickness and roughness... and an ability to withstand thermal shock with grace.
