Mar. 24th, 2013 05:27 pmSo, I've posted about this elsewhere, but I'm psyched enough about it to post about it here as well.
So, last week R brought me a new gongfu jacket. Possibly because my favorite one has not actually been black for years, and is kind of ragged. (But it is soft and comfortable and I love it.) This one is very black, with red frogs. Anyhow, today he brought me matching pants, and a different jacket.
So, this is my advanced class, and we're getting ready to go to World Taiji day in Columbus. (Yeah, this is kind of a big deal, having never taken a group of students to a demo before.) So, it's looking like the group of us are all going to be in uniforms that match this. And do the Chen dao form. (And maybe the Chen 18... though they've mostly been working on Yilu recently, and that's far too long unless things get kind of slow.) So, we're all going to look something like this (notice the red stripe up the leg):

And... honestly? It's a good group. I am proud to be bringing them
And then we're going to go out for Ethiopian at Blue Nile, the place
thewronghands found some years back. Every time I think of that part of the plan I get hungry. OMG, so hungry.
Now that I think about it, it occurs to me that the sword bag R brought also matches my new uniform. (Back before I put out a donations jar, R decided that he was going to find his own way to show appreciation. I go back and forth between being pleased as heck and kind of terrified. His taste is excellent, and he tends to notice when my equipment is falling apart. Or perhaps insufficiently stylish.)
Oh, and I failed to note an important point - the jacket and the pants actually both fit. Like, just like that, on the first try. (R apparently has amazing skills.)
